Dennis William Doyle Smith's Obituary
Dennis William Doyle Smith, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home on May 24, 2026. Born on December 7, 1953, to Charles and Helen Smith, Dennis lived a life centered around faith, hard work, and family.
Dennis recently celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Colistia Smith. He worked many years at Goodyear before later retiring as a construction supervisor with DBS Construction. He was affiliated with the Church of God and was known for his strong work ethic and caring heart.
He enjoyed fishing, Alabama football, traveling, holidays with family, working on projects, going to Trade Day, and spending time with his best friend, his golden doodle Coco. More than anything, Dennis loved his family and cherished every opportunity to support and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Colistia Smith; his children, Amanda (Robby) Beaver and Buddy (Shannon) Smith; grandchildren Brett (Kelsey) Beaver, Emily Beaver, Bryce Beaver, Dylan Beaver, David Smith, and Miranda Shealy; great-grandchildren Annistyn Beaver and Ellie Beaver; brothers Gregg Smith (Diane Orr) and Chuck (Donna) Smith; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Smith, his brother Eddie, and his sister Frankie.
Dennis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Crumley's Chapel Church of God in Ranburne, Alabama.
