Deborah Jean Logan's Obituary
Deborah Dupree Homesley Logan, born on February 2, 1954, passed away on January 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, music, and devotion to those she loved.
Deborah was the youngest of 9 children. She was a mother to three children: Vann (Penny) Homesley, Belinda Homesley (Ricky) Heath, and Jason (Kendra) Homesley. Her greatest pride was her family, especially her grandchildren—Brittany Murray (great-grandchildren Briley & Gracey), Jacob Heath, Joshua Coheely, Kelsey Heath, Aiden Homesley, Tennyson Homesley, and Evan Homesley—whom she loved without limits and defended without hesitation. Given the opportunity, she was their fiercest advocate, protector, and biggest fan. It was often said that Deborah missed her true calling as a defense attorney, as her grandchildren could do no wrong in her eyes.
A proud alumni of Jacksonville State University, Deborah earned her bachelor’s while raising three children (and later went back and finished her master’s)—an accomplishment that reflected her determination.
Deborah was a gifted singer and musician who spent many years performing in a band alongside her husband, Tommy. Music was woven into the fabric of her life and home, and she passed that love down through generations. Nowhere was that more evident than in her bond with her youngest grandchild, Evan, with whom she shared countless hours singing together. Evan proudly knows the lyrics to more songs from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s than most, a testament to those cherished moments they spent side by side, singing and laughing.
Deborah will be remembered for her strength, her voice, her sharp wit, her loyalty, and love. Her presence was commanding and her love unshakeable.
Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and every song that still echoes with her memory.
