De Attaway's Obituary
De Attaway,84, of Cave Spring, Ga passed away peacefully on December 11th, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Known to many as “NaNa,” she was born in Bowling Green, Florida on December 2, 1937, and moved to Cave Spring 31 years ago. Now De victoriously resides with Jesus in her heavenly home.
Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grand Mother, and Faithful Friend. De’s legacy will continue through the lives of her loved ones living their lives to the fullest.
De loved deeply and lived life with all she could give. At the top of her list was Jesus, followed by her family and friends. You would always find her showing her love by giving and serving, spending time with people, painting and cooking for people, or performing any act of kindness she was able to do for anyone in need.
De was preceded in death by her father Britt, her mother, Thelma, her sisters, Gloria and Betty, and her late husband Leon. She is survived by her children Billie and Renea, along with her grandchildren David (Shea), Sherrie’ (Cole), Shelby, and Jaelyn. In addition, four great-grandchildren Haileigh, Remi, Law, and Jeb (expected arrival spring 22). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, in addition to her much loved adopted Wentz family.
The family will hold a celebration of life service to honor De at Renovation Church, 15 Redmond Court, Rome, GA 30165 on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Receiving family and friends from 6 PM-7 PM with the celebration of life service immediately following at 7 PM officiated by Pastor Mike Barone.
