David Arthur Gladd Jr.'s Obituary
How do we put into a few paragraphs a summary of one of the greatest men in our lives, David Arthur Gladd Jr. He was loved beyond words and measure. He was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother.
He now walks a new journey with his mother Alice Gladd, daughter Danielle Gladd, both maternal grandparents (Alberta and Willard Linaberry), and paternal grandparents (Iva and Russell Gladd). He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Robin Gladd, son David Gladd III (Krystle Gladd), his Daughter Leigha Poore (Blake Poore), Father David Gladd Sr., Brother Kevin Gladd, sister Jodi Singleton (Bob Singleton), his grandchildren: Rhyder Poore, Jaxon Poore, and Colton Gladd, and numerous extended family members .
Dave credited his father and uncles for teaching him the fundamentals of everything from car mechanics to home building. He was a jack of all trades, and always took pride in the work that he did. After almost 40 years in the IT field, he started his own contracting and repair business.
Dave proudly served in the United States Marine Corps working with military aircrafts. He applied most of what he learned during his time in the service to how he approached life in general…work hard, stay dedicated, keep a positive attitude, and when the time was right, have a lot of fun.
He had the privilege to mentor young boys through the Boy Scouts of America organization. It was in this organization that he was to meet some of the finest young men and some of the most dedicated parents he would ever have the pleasure to work with.
Dave never met a stranger and could be a friend to all. He touched so many lives with his optimistic attitude and easy going nature. He was encouraging, kind, and fun loving.
He was, is, and forever will be, our constant, our hero, our everything.
