Darrell Franklin Wiggins' Obituary
Darrell Franklin Wiggins, 72, of Piedmont, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at AdventHealth Redmond.
Born on June 26, 1953, to the late Bud and Ruby Wiggins, Darrell was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by his deep love and unwavering commitment to his family. Family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of those he loved.
On June 26, Darrell would have celebrated both his 73rd birthday and his 37th wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Susan Wiggins. Their love story began through the kindness of dear friends, Barry and Louise Williamson, who introduced them. The couple later exchanged vows at the Williamsons' home, beginning a marriage built on love, respect, and devotion. Susan remained the greatest joy of Darrell’s life, and he cherished every moment they shared together.
In his younger years, Darrell enjoyed playing baseball and softball, sports that reflected his competitive spirit and love of teamwork. As the years passed, he developed a passion for golf and found great enjoyment on the course. He also loved riding horses and spending time fishing, appreciating the peace and simple pleasures that nature provided.
Darrell is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Wiggins; his brother, Harold Wiggins (Janice Smith); his sister, Lynn Adams (Ricky); and many special nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was endlessly proud of his family and treasured the relationships he shared with each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ruby Wiggins, and his brother, Danny Wiggins.
Darrell will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and the love he freely gave to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
