Curtis Edward Abbott's Obituary
Curtis Edward Abbott, 79, of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away peacefully in his home on November 16, 2020. Mr. Abbott was born 4/11/41 in Harpersville, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Thurman Abbott; father, Robert E. Abbot; his mother, Helen Wilma Roberson Abbott; and brothers, Robert E. Abbott, Floyd E. Abbott, and Timothy Ralph Abbott. He is survived by sisters, Patricia A. Abbott Horn (Jerry) and Glenda Jo Abbott Hanner-Landers, sisters-in-law, Sarah Abbott and Rosie Abbott-LaFleche. He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy A. Abbott (Shirley), L. Neal Abbott (Sugar), and Terry L. Abbott (Terry). Mr. Abbott leaves behind 7 children: Lynne Jones, Sandra Klopp (Kevin),
Teresa Owens, Jenifer Scott, Laraine Sims Huddleston (Lloyd), Sheila Carter, and Jesse Thurman (Shelbie); along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Abbott was truly known as a "Gentle Giant" and will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
