Byron Gregory Goodwin's Obituary
Greg carried ocean-colored eyes that seemed to hold both gentleness and depth, like waves reflecting light. He grew up as a little southern boy, raised on wide skies and long days outside, always happiest when he was moving through the world in the open air.
He possessed a natural charm that could light up any room and bring laughter to everyone around him. He was engaging, funny, and endlessly full of stories, with a way of making people feel drawn to him. Beneath it all was a deeply caring heart; he would give the shirt off his back to someone in need without hesitation.
Greg loved music, especially rock and roll and filled his days with it from morning until night. Rhythm seemed to speak to something deep within him; it comforted him, healed him, and made him feel alive.
He will be forever deeply loved, and profoundly missed, by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Greg was proceeded in death by his parents, J.D. and Patsy Goodwin; his brothers, Bimbo and Marty; and his sisters, Trisha and Sue.
Greg is survived by his children, Yolanda and Amber; his niece Tracia; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
