Brenda Payne Jackson's Obituary
Brenda Payne Jackson, age 76 of Oxford, passed away on September 1, 2025, at RMC in Anniston. She is survived by her children, Stephen Childs (Oobi) and Jason Childs (Michelle); and grandchildren, Emily Broadwater, Cole Childs, Elizabeth Johnson, Kerrigan Barker and Anastasia Barker.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lou Tharp and Martin Butler; and her siblings, Ralph, Mildred, Melba, June, Betty and Ann.
She was born March 28, 1949 to Lou Tharp and Martin Butler and was one of seven siblings. She was a reporter for the Gadsden Times, and then a reporter for CBS for many years. She then went to college and became a nurse. She was a nurse for 23 years. Brenda truly loved helping people.
