Bailey Leon Phelps' Obituary
Bailey Leon Phelps, 71 of Southside, Al. passed away on November 12, 2023 surrounded by family.
Mr. Phelps was a native of Illinois where he joined the US Army. A Vietnam Veteran, he earned a Bronze Star having been recognized for his meritorious and heroic action in the line of duty. He was a retired department of correction sergeant.
Mr. Phelps is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Buffy Hollis, Kiyomi Olson; daughters in law, Kelly Phelps, Desirae Phelps; by his sons; Leon Phelps, Matthew Phelps; sons in law, Jason Hollis, Leif Olson and by his grandchildren: Claudia, Cody, Kylie, Alexandria, Kaleb, Rachel, Jacob, Kayden, Bailey, Kaitlyn, Malachi and Reiko; sister-in-law, Sandy; nieces and nephews; and extended family, Ceci and Henry Suarez, Emily Garnett, Ariel and Armando and their 2 children Carmen and Elias.
Preceding him death were Earl, Pat, Sharon and Margie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorado Correctional Peace Officer Foundation cpof.org in Mr. Phelps name or to the American Cancer Society.
