Arthur D. Campbell's Obituary
JACKSONVILLE – Arthur D Campbell, 73, passed from this life peacefully December 4, 2021, at his home in Jacksonville, AL. Danny was born October 15, 1948, in Anniston, AL, the son of Arthur N. and Margie Evelyn (Warren) Campbell.
A 1967 Alexandria High School Graduate, Danny served in the United States Military during the Vietnam War. After the war, he turned his love of cars into a lifetime career in the dealership industry. Working all over the Southeast, he forged many friendships that he cherished the remainder of his life. Danny loved to travel, listen to good music of all variations, study history, read a good novel, and root for his beloved Auburn Tigers every chance he got. He was the most patriotic man and his love for this Country ran deep. Danny was a kind and generous man that never met a stranger. He loved his family and no role suited him better than that of “PawPaw.” His grandchildren were the lights of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Regina Jones, and two brothers, Douglas and Rodney Campbell. Surviving him are his son, Jonathan Campbell and his wife Claire, of Mobile, AL; Daughters, Kelsey (Campbell) Wade of Weaver, AL, and Kendall Campbell of Anniston, AL; five grandchildren, Kyran Moore, Kolbie Moore, Jaxon Wade, Emma Campbell, and Penelope Hargrove; His longtime partner, Denise Tharrington Walden of Alexandria, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 12 at the AL Alexander Building at Cheaha State Park, 19644 Hwy 281, Delta, AL 36258. A private family moment will take place following the memorial. Those who wish to remember Danny in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the National Veterans Foundation, 5777 West Century Blvd, Suite 350, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
