Anita Jean Lique's Obituary
Anita Jean Lique—known lovingly as Jean to many and Nana to her family—lived a life centered on love, laughter, and service to those around her.
Jean was born Anita Jean Hunter and carried that strength with her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Retired First Sergeant Charles Ronald Lique. She was also preceded by her parents, Lester Stark Hunter and Fannie Mae Hunter, and her sibling, Carolyn Ivey, and brother-in-law, Sonny Ivey.
Jean’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Monica Lique, and her daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Brad Pitts. She poured her heart into being a grandmother to Asper-Jordan and Drew Powell, Garret and Lindsey Shaver, Kelsey Lique and Dominic Morales, and Natalie Lique, along with step-grandchildren Chad and Ruthanne Pitts. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Kylee Pitts, Avonlea Pitts, Eden Jean Powell, Judah Powell, and John Lucas Shaver, who is expected this May.
Jean was a proud military wife, a loving mother, and the kind of woman who made everyone feel welcome. She had a strong work ethic and truly loved her work family at Sam’s Dental, where she found joy working alongside her favorites—her daughter Traci, her good friend Mike, and a longtime family mentor, and personal friend, Sam Cain, who was like a son to her. She built meaningful relationships everywhere she went and treated coworkers like family.
She found happiness in the simple things—crocheting, country music, her fondness for frogs (especially Kermit), and faithfully watching The Incredible Dr. Pol. No matter the setting, Jean had a way of bringing smiles to those around her. Her spirit was bright, kind, and unmistakable.
Above all, Jean will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and the love she so freely gave. Her life was well lived, and her presence will be deeply missed but forever felt in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
