Alicia Austin's Obituary
Alicia Austin went to be with the Lord on December 27th, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
Alicia was born in Anniston on September 21st 1974 to Keith & Dora (Thomas) Smith. Alicia was a fun, loving, compassionate, talented mother, sister and friend. Alicia fought a courageous battle and her words as she started to battle breast cancer was, “God is in control and all is well with my soul.”
Alicia was a 1993 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School in Jacksonville, AL. After graduating, Alicia became a cosmetologist and worked in this field for more than 20 years at Monet Salon and Chateau Salon. Alicia was a member of the Alexandria Baptist Church and was a person of great faith. Alicia will be deeply missed by many family and friends.
Alicia is proceeded into death by maternal grandparents Bryant & Laural Thomas. Paternal Grandparents Isom & Blanch Smith; Aunt Imogene Smith; Aunt Kathy Smith and Uncle Tommy Woodall.
Survivors include her son’s, Jamie Austin of Cedar Springs, AL, Brodie Austin of Alexandria, AL, her father Keith Thomas of Wyoming and Mother Dora Smith of Alexandria, AL, Brother Al Coone (Ashley) of Oak Grove, MO; Alicia’s “Second Mother,” Aunt Geraldine and Joe Malinowski of Jacksonville, AL, Aunt Annelle Thomas-Adams of Dolphin Island, AL, Jimmy Smith (Liz) of Alexandria, AL, Harold Smith of Alexandria, AL, Henry Smith of Alexandria, AL, along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews and compassionate friend, James and life-long friend, Angela.
A celebration of life will be held January 1, 2022 at Asberry Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Alabama, 3682 Roy Webb Rd, Jacksonville, AL 36265 from 1pm until the family concludes the service. Flowers will be accepted.
