Edward “Eddie” William Smith Jr. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 29,2021 at Anniston Regional Medical Center. Eddie was born and raised in Anniston, Alabama by his parents Neva Poore and Edward William Smith Sr. He grew up between Anniston and Oxford Alabama. He loved to hunt, ride around looking at old cars, and enjoyed butter pecan ice cream. He could look at a car and just tell you what it was. Dad was an old school back yard Mechanic which he did as a career most of his life. I remember talking to people and them saying he was one of the best car electricians with just a light tester. Dad has been wheelchair bound for almost four years but never let that stop him from doing anything. He continued to work on his home, cut grass, and work on other projects.Eddie loved doing stuff with his wife, children, and grand kids. He also loved animals especially his cat Lenny. Eddie was preceded in death by his father Eddie Sr, Mother Neva, Sister Susie Smith-Bolt, and Brother Terry Smith. He is survived by his wife Linda Smith, his five children Tracy Smith, Cathy Etheridge, Chris Smith, Jessica Burke, Ashley Snell, Sister Linda Rust, Nieces Sherry Rust, Kimberly Weldon, Diane Rust, Donna Rust, Grandchildren, Bryson Burke, Krislynn Burke, Jace Burke, Shelby Burke, Bailey Burke, Jaime Hodge, Micheal Hodge, Christian Smith, Anna Smith, Dakota Smith, Sam Smith, Carolyn Carter, Arrie Snell, and many great grand children. A memorial service will be held for Eddie William Smith Jr, age 74, on January 22, 2021, between 2 to 5 PM at First Congregational Full Gospel Church of Anniston,400 Deyo Street Anniston Al 36201.
