Dixie Lee Williamson Thornton

May 20, 1981 - April 24, 2022

Dixie Lee Williamson Thornton, 40, of Ohatchee reunited with her Daddy (William David Williamson) on Sunday, April 24, 2022. She leaves behind the center of her world, best friend, and daughter, Jordyn Lee Thornton of Alexandria; her daughter, Nevaeh Williamson; mother, Mary Williamson; sister, Jenny Williamson (Steven), of Ohatchee; brother, Josh Williamson (Kristy), of White Plains; two nephews, Jakob Williamson and Gavin Hall; one niece, Lela Williamson; and a host of friends and family that she deeply cared for. Dixie was born on May 20th, 1981 and resided in or around Ohatchee her whole life. She was an alumni of Ohatchee High School and made many friends and memories during her time there. After high school, she worked multiple different jobs and was known for being a hard working employee and very entertaining co-worker. Those lucky enough to have known Dixie will always remember her great sense of humor and good hearted nature. There was never a dull moment with Dixie. She had the best spirit, always smiled, loved making others laugh, and would do anything she could to help someone in need. Dixie was a talented writer as well, and enjoyed journaling and writing poetry in her free time. Few people are as hilarious, kind, and sincere as she was. Dixie’s favorite thing to do was to see her daughters and spend time with her family, who will miss her very dearly. She was a strong, loving, and genuine woman who defeated long odds and fought to stay around as long as possible despite her condition. There will never be another Dixie, and although the world lost an amazing person, heaven has gained a beautiful soul. A celebration of life for Dixie Lee Williamson Thornton will be held this Sunday, May 1stat the Alexandria Civitan Club from 12-2 pm followed by a gathering at her mother’s house for family and friends.
